Localization and engraving

The layout of the keys on today's keyboards is a relic of the time for typewriters. The QWERTY system was developed to prevent the jamming of frequently used letters due to the mechanical limitations of typewriters. The names of the key layouts are therefore determined by the keys of the first six letters. Most of the western world uses the QWERTY layout. Central Europe, which includes Slovenia, uses the QWERTZ layout. The French are a bit extra though and use the AZERTY schedule, the kid watches the rest of the world. :) Central Europe, which includes Slovenia, uses the QWERTZ layout.

Localization

Localization is a key layout that differs in different world markets. In Slovenia, American and British key localization prevails, šthis is additionally laser engraved on most keyboards with šums and special characters.

Engraving

In laser engraving, letters and symbols are "burned" into the keys with a laser.

In practice, we most often add characters to those keyboards that do not have š characters and characters that we are used to in Slovenian or YU keyboard.

In addition to laser engraving, we also know še

  • "Pad printing" or keyboard printing
    The simplest and cheapest form of engraving, but it does not have a long lifespan.
  • "Dye sublimination"
    In this engraving, the key is heat-treated and the dye is rubbed into the plastic. key with engraving. This is the most expensive and most reliable method of engraving, but it is limited to two colors.
